It all started in 2018

The duo made contact on the second lap of the 2018 Bahrain GP, with Verstappen suffering a left-rear puncture and subsequently retiring from the race. After the race, Max blamed the reigning champion for the collision. While Hamilton hit back and said Verstappen must cut out his errors.

Crash at Silverstone

During the opening lap at Silverstone, Lewis Hamilton's left-front wheel tangles with Verstappen's rear-right at Copse corner. As a result, the Dutchman went flying into the tires barrier, in an impact that measured at 51G.

'Disrespectful celeberations'

Speaking in public for the first time after the Silverstone crash, Verstappen felt the victory celebration by Hamilton after the British Grand Prix was “really disrespectful” considering he was in the hospital after being knocked out of the race.

During the post-qualifying press conference at the Hungarian GP, Max Verstappen was frustrated to continued questioning about his Silverstone collision with his arch-rival, Lewis Hamilton.

Verstappen a 'd**khead'

After the second lap collision with Verstappen at the 2018 Bahrain GP, Hamilton endured some damages to his car and as a result the Briton finished P3. And while watching the incident before the podium ceremony Hamilton called the Dutchman a 'd**khead'.
